Tuned In is a team song identification game in our Saturday Night line-upp of music games.
How to Play:
Before the game starts, Two captains are chosen, and participants are divided up into 2 teams.
Then, the 14 categories for the night are read. The DJ for the night chooses these from the master category list. The team that is up first for the night chooses a category and either track 1 or 2. The DJ will then tell the teams what two elements he/she is looking for. Usually it’s title and artist, but it doesn’t always have to be. Some categories may ask for another element, or even have bonus elements.
The night’s host then plays the track for the team. The team then has 90 seconds to come up with the correct answers. During the 90 second time the team captain may ask to have the track played one more time. Correct guesses on either element gains points, incorrect guesses subtract points. If the team guesses either element incorrectly or passes on an element the opposing team may steal the track. The team has 30 seconds and the track cannot be played on a steal.
The point value for each round is as follows:
- Rounds one through ten, each element is worth 5 points.
- Round 11, each element is worth 10 points.
- Round 12, each element is worth 15 points.
- Round 13, each element is worth 20 points.
- In the final round, each element is worth 25 points.
Scores and categories are updated after rounds 4 and 8.
After the last round, the final score for the night is given.
Here’s a tip. Suggest categories to your captain that you might find difficult early. Save your strong categories for the end when the point values are higher.
